overview
A birthday banner for Akihabara — flowers from the Tentacult
For Ninomae Ina'nis's birthday on May 20, 2026, her Japanese fan community — Tentacult JP — commissioned a celebration advertisement to hang in Akihabara, approved through hololive production's official support-advertising program. LUMINA carried both halves of the work: the illustration and the advertisement design around it.
The artwork answers the occasion quietly. Ina rests her chin on one gloved hand behind a bouquet of pink and lavender roses, birthday cake in front, tako balloons drifting out of focus behind — a private little party the passerby is allowed to glimpse.

Illustration: a party kept at a whisper
The palette stays in greyed lavenders and soft pinks so the piece reads calm at street scale — a deliberate counterpoint to the neon that surrounds any Akihabara wall. Details reward the fan who steps closer: the floral kimono sleeve, the sparkle at the corner of one eye, photo frames of blurred memories on the table, and balloons carrying the fandom in silhouette.

Design: an ad that behaves like a keepsake
The layout treats the ad frame as part of the composition. NINOMAE / INA'NIS is split across the top corners in wide serif caps, HAPPY BIRTHDAY runs down the bouquet on a diagonal, and the date 2026.05.20 spans the full width as translucent numerals. Tako-script accents, QR codes for her X and YouTube channels, and the organizer credits sit in a bordered footer — everything a support ad must legally carry, set so it reads like part of the artwork rather than fine print.

From the fandom, to a wall in Akihabara
Delivered as a 17,000-pixel print master, the banner joined the tradition of fan-funded birthday advertisements that turn Akihabara into a gallery for a week — a Tentacult love letter that happened to be signed, illustrated, and typeset by one hand.
